Sue and I have been watching Adventure Time. It’s a children’s cartoon that follows the adventures of Finn the human and his dog Jake. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the show is wildly inventive, sometimes to the point of what the hell did I just watch. Each episode is about 11 minutes long, and it’s worth checking out. The story lines aren’t hard to follow, but that doesn’t mean they’re simple. Learning a lesson isn’t the biggest priority, which I appreciate. Adventure Time doesn’t shy away difficult topics. Complex themes like death, abandonment, loss of relationships, are present over the course of the show. Highly recommended.
