2018 stared poorly, and it ended poorly. I posted a long detailed report about 2018, which detailed the challenges that I faced during the year. I’m proud of that post, but before it could be backed up, the database for my website got deleted or corrupted or whatever. My website went down for an hour or two. Luckily, the site has been backed up, and the restoration process went smoothly. Unfortunately, I didn’t follow my normal procedure where I write the post in a document outside WordPress. The external document lets me have a backup, but I didn’t do it this time.
Sadly, the post is lost, and I’m not going to recreate it. But I will end this similar to how I ended that. In 2018, I faced a number of significant hurdles with my health. It interfered with most of my life from work to writing to jiu jitsu to blogging. Through all this, my wife supported me. She took care of me, and our relationship grew. I was depressed for most of the year. Sue helped me recover, and she has been my biggest cheerleader throughout the year. Since Putting the Science in Fiction published, Sue has been proud of me. I’m a lucky, lucky man. Right now the most successful part of my life is my marriage to Sue. In 2019, it will get even better.
