Life and Blogging Schedule Changes

Today’s post is about life and blogging schedule changes. We’ve decided to start telling strangers that a little book reviewer is on the way. That’s right. House Primm-Donze is expanding. Our first child is on the way. Originally, the baby was scheduled to arrive in January, but as with most things in life, the schedule doesn’t matter. Baby P-D, as I’ve taken to calling the little bundle of joy, could come any day now.

Life and Blogging Schedule Changes

So, what does this mean?

Well, I’m behind on a few reviews. I haven’t been posting as much lately because we’ve been preparing the house and, well, our lives for baby’s arrival. Over the past month, a number of rapid changes took place, and we’ve been scrambling to adjust. There’s still so much to do. I had prepared to have all my reviews done in the month of December and ready to go for January. Well, that’s not going to happen now. So, I apologize to any authors and publishers who read this. I will post reviews as I’m able.

With the baby coming, my review schedule is going to change – if not stop – for the next six to nine months. It will be much more infrequent, and I’ll likely stick to the Fantasy and Science Fiction genres. Non-fiction reviews are more difficult for me to write. Until life stabilizes, I plan to stick to fiction if possible. I don’t do well without sleep; so, we’ll see if I can get anything done in the next six months. Once a few months pass, I’ll be able to understand what my new schedule can handle. Hopefully this will mean I can return to reviewing non-fiction as well as fiction.

Thank you

Thanks for your patience. Even though I’m behind times a book blogger, I love writing these reviews. It makes me happy, and hopefully has a positive effect on the publishing world. I want to continue when time permits. I do hope these life and blogging schedule changes are temporary. If these changes mean an alteration to my reviewing career, I will do my best to be transparent .

I have a review coming out tomorrow (11/22), and a lot of reviews are on the to-do-list. Below is a snapshot of my reviewing work. All of these books have struck my interest, and I know I’ll get to them all, eventually. If you see anything you like, let me know in the comments.

Being Written

Elsa Sjunneson Being Seen from Tiller Press – Spoiler: I loved it.

Reading

James Rollins The Starless Crown from Tor Books – James Rollins has built a fascinating world.
Stuart Jeffries Everything, All the Time, Everywhere from Verso – This is a book of weighty ideas. It’s one of those that I read and have to set down to ponder a paragraph or two.
